As a ministry equipping biblical counselors, Michigan Biblical Counseling holds to the historic doctrines affirmed by Berean Baptist Church. In summary, we affirm:

  • The Bible — all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God, and our final rule for faith, life, and counseling practice.
  • One God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • The full deity of the Lord Jesus Christ — His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and promised return.
  • The lostness of humanity apart from Christ, and the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
  • Justification by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
  • The ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells and enables believers to live a godly life and pursue biblical change.
  • The bodily resurrection of both the saved, to eternal life, and the lost, to eternal judgment.
  • The spiritual unity of all believers in Christ, expressed and practiced through the local church.
  • This is a summary; Berean Baptist Church’s complete statement of faith governs Michigan Biblical Counseling as a ministry of Berean and is available at berean-mi.org or on request.
