At its core, Biblical Counseling is the personal discipleship ministry of God’s people to others under the oversight of the local church. It is an approach to soul-care that is entirely informed, bound, and shaped by the Holy Scriptures as the authoritative and sufficient Word of God. While the world offers many shifting theories on human behavior and emotional healing, we believe that God, as our Creator, has already provided us with everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him (2 Peter 1:3).
As an organization associated with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), we uphold the conviction that the Bible is not merely a book of suggestions, but a divine roadmap for understanding the complexities of the human heart. Biblical Counseling differs from secular psychology in its starting point: we believe that the fundamental problems of the human condition are rooted in our relationship with God. Therefore, our goal is not simply “symptom management” or “feeling better,” but rather heart transformation that leads to Christ-likeness.
The process of Biblical Counseling involves “speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15) to help individuals navigate the trials, sufferings, and sins of life. We focus on the “inner man”—the heart—recognizing that our external behaviors and emotions flow from our deepest desires and beliefs. By applying the Gospel to specific life situations, we find that there is no problem too great for the grace of God to reach. Whether dealing with anxiety, depression, marriage conflict, or grief, the Word of God provides a clear guide to chart a course toward lasting change and hope.
This training and conference are designed to equip you to participate in this work. We believe that counseling is not a “professional-only” activity reserved for an elite few; rather, it is part of the normal process of discipleship that all Christians are called to engage in as we live life together. Our mission is to train you to minister the grace of Christ and the wisdom of the Word to people in pain, helping them to reorient their lives around the worship of God and the joy of the Gospel.
In a world searching for answers in all the wrong places, we invite you to discover the sufficiency of Christ and the transformative power of His Word.
